Oranjestad
Flamingo Beach, Renaissance Island
Renaissance Island sits just off downtown Oranjestad and is only reachable by a short private ferry, which is what keeps it quieter than the mainland beaches. Its main draw is the small flock of flamingos that wander the sand, happy to pose for photos as long as you don't chase them.
Access is generally reserved for hotel guests or day-pass holders, and the flamingo section in particular has limited capacity, so this is a plan-ahead activity rather than a spontaneous one.
If you're staying at one of our Oranjestad properties, this is one of the closer options for a full beach day rather than an afternoon trip.
Weekday mornings have shorter boat queues than weekends.
