Island-wide
Arikok National Park
Arikok covers close to twenty percent of Aruba and looks nothing like the beach postcards: rolling desert, tall cactus fields, volcanic rock formations, and a scattering of hidden coves along its coastline.
The road network inside the park is mostly unpaved, so a rental sedan won't get you far. Most visitors either rent a UTV/ATV for the day or book a guided 4x4 tour, both of which are easy to arrange from anywhere on the island.
Conservation Ariba, which manages the park, also runs cave systems and a couple of secluded beaches (Boca Prins, Dos Playa) that are only reachable through the park itself.
Bring water and start early. There is little shade and it gets hot fast.
